Range anti-tip kits have been around for a while but they are not really something you’d think about unless you were installing a new range (and how often does that happen). Most ranges actually come with an anti-tip device that you secure to the floor- perfectly placed mind you- and slide the range into. It will cover one of the rear feet and keep the range from tipping when installed correctly. The problem is… there is very little room for error with these type devices and if the floor is compromised or uneven (like the floor under my own range), it can be a headache.
So what’s the alternative? How about a range anti-tip kit from GE that gives some room to breathe during installation. The WB2X7909 kit comes with a bracket and a chain- simple. The range and the brackets don’t have to be in perfect positions and the floor doesn’t have to be pristine at all (you can mount it to the wall even). It will work with all range brands and can even be used to provide additional security for wall ovens.
