Years ago, GE changed their primary refrigerator water filter from the old, silver Culligan GWF to the new, plastic-bodied MWF cartridge. There were a few bumps along the way but, for the most part, this filter update was very successful. Now, GE is changing their flagship refrigerator water filter again. The old MWF filter is history and in it’s place is the new, improved MWFP refrigerator water filter.
The MWFP filter has been tested and verified to filter 5 pharmaceuticals (hence the addition of the P to the part number) along with the normal cast of contaminants you’d expect.
- Exclusive advanced filtration
- Tested and verified to filter 5 trace pharmaceuticals including ibuprofen, progesterone, atenolol, trimethoprim, and fluoxetine* (* The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily in all users’ water)
- NSF certified to filter contaminants such as cysts, lead, mercury, asbestos, and select pesticides and chemicals
- NSF certified for structural performance and to filter chlorine taste and odor and particulate
- Designed and tested specifically for use in select GE Side-by-Side and Bottom-Freezer refrigerators
- Easy tool-free replacement
- Certified genuine GE Part
- Replace every six months** (** Cartridge should be replaced every 6 months at rated capacity, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in flow rate occurs)
