Once upon a time Maytag was a giant in US appliance manufacturing and they gobbled up companies like Amana, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef and Norge. This consolidation caused some cataloging problems for people like us who have to keep the part numbers straight and it wasn’t painless for Maytag either. There was a lot to keep up with.
And… in 2006, when Whirlpool bought Maytag (I think just to keep her away from offshore competition), things got worse!
